  1 Flag CTF on Terminal

(O7AH's Pick)                                              Bungie.net Game Stats                                          Download The Video Of This Game:

Game 1: Terminal 1 flag

I’m about sick of this gametype. We’ve picked this same game for our turn in every match in this community tournament. And since this is the 9th game, we’ve had to play it 9 times.  The reason we have picked it every time might be because up to this point we have won every time.  Every match has at least been stretched to a third game due to it, so on we go……

 Round 1: O7AH on D

You’d think that after playing it so much, we would all have our roles down, but our lineup has shuffled, so whenever Cozmo and I (T A steve L L) are in the same game we get 1 less person going for rockets than usual.  So, of course, OcR Envy ended up with rockets and killed everyone but the wraith and grabbed the flag. Luckily for us, he ended up blowing himself up (apparently) after grabbing the flag. So after this bit of luck we held strong for most of the round. OcR almost had it out past the tracks once, but thanks to our ingenious strategy of parking the ghost on the flag, they never advanced it any farther.

 Round 2: O7AH on O

We had our chances in this round but were unable to bring it home. In our initial rush we took the wraith out but flipped the car. In our second rush we had 3 of them dead, but couldn’t get it out of the base quick enough to avoid them respawning and raining SMG upon us. For a while we were even in their wraith, and in the last rush we even brought the flag back to the front of our base with all four of us alive. It all would’ve been perfect except OcR Nemesis was waiting for us at the top of our base. He stuck me in the ghost which, evidently, flew into Compton and killed him, and then Cozmo and Nomar were cut down in a hail of carbine fire. We were all together in death lobby, watching the counter tick down to zero.

 Round 3: O7AH on D

This round was pretty uneventful. The only time OcR came close was when McDohl parked the gauss behind the base and shelled us till only Cozmo was all that remained, cowering, and wetting himself. But we respawned quickly enough to throw nades out there and get Cozmo a towel.

 Round 4: O7AH on O

This was another round of failed rushes. I’m pretty sure Cozmo was drunk or on the phone in this game, because this was some of the worst driving I’ve seen him ever do. The second car rush he hit the side of the train and we kind of rolled off of it, it was really odd.  After the four minutes had expired, I was stuck above the dumpster contesting and waiting for backup. They sent one guy up to get me, but I was behind the door and hit him in the back. The next time they sent three up, so I was forced to tangle with the sword guy below. I caught him off guard and landed behind him for the assassination, then I grabbed the flag and managed to beat down two people with it before getting killed. The flag bounced in a weird way and Nomar and Compton couldn’t get close enough to contest.

For the first time, O7AH was unable to pull off a win.

 Final Score: 0-0 Tie

  Classic CTF on Sanctuary

(Outcast Reborn's Pick)                                    Bungie.net Stats                                           Download The Video Of This Game:

This was a marathon; a true war of attrition. It was classic ctf, as in touch return, and everyone spawned with BRs, plus there was no time limit. After the last game ended in a 0-0 tie, we knew this game could go on for a while because the teams were very evenly matched. To use Cozmo’s words, “whoever has to use the bathroom fir…….”, then he died. (If anyone ends up downloading the huge video, they should listen to the first minute of conversation, and then jump ahead to near the end of the video. Everyone sounds delirious, its really funny.)  It’s reminiscent of the old halo 1 days of CTF in blood gultch. (I can’t wait for the next lan!).

Because I can’t really summarize what happened, ill just give a timeline thingy….

 0:00 – Game Start

5:15 – We realize that this could take a while

7:25 – OcR rushes right side with 2 guys, 1 with left, and have Envy with snipe cover. Nemesis grabs flag and makes it halfway back before O7AH all respawn and catch him.

9:07 – Combo in hand, rush in left side with Nomar sniping behind and grab flag. We are both quickly killed and the flag is returned. Cozmo and Compton follow up on the right side and grab flag again. This is also quickly returned.

12:30 - O7AH grabs flag again, OcR returns it in less than 5 seconds

12:50 – Compton does worst Howard Cosell impression of all time

 13:38 – I shoot Knight’s grenade out of midair

14:30 – Cozmo goes in solo and brings the flag out while the rest of us kill people in the middle. Cozmo dies in our rock garden, Nomar takes the flag the rest of the way and caps it. O7AH leads 1-0

15:00 – Delirium begins to set in.

16:40 – Both teams grab flags. OcR guy chooses the wrong way and runs into returning O7AH guys. O7AH guys throw down OcR flag and return our flag. OcR guys catch up with O7AH guys and return their flag.

18:50 – OcR Envy runs past Compton to kill me

19:30 – Nomar runs in right side while most of the OcR guys are on the left. Thanks to Cozmo’s advice “Throw grenades and they’ll die” and Nomar beating down the sword guy with the flag, Nomar scores again. O7AH leads 2-0

 19:50 – More delirium

22:39 – O7AH uses strategy of annoying other team with crazy accents to grab the flag. Victory appears certain as we have three guys right next to the flag as its 10 feet from cap point. Nemesis shows up with snipe and ruins the party by sniping all three of us while we scream like babies. Nomar runs across base to grab flag and cap it but also dies inches away. Madness sets in.

23:18 – OcR grabs flag and tries to take it through the middle Chinese army style. I run behind Envy for 10 seconds meleeing, trying to assassinate him. I feel stupid, but finally do it and return the flag.

24:00 – Compton yells “Let’s do it again!” and grabs flag. This time O7AH means business and quickly runs the flag home. O7AH ends it 3-0

  MLG Slayer on Lockout

(Neutral Slayer Pick)

Bungie.net  Stats                                                                      Download the video of this game

After the second game, it was getting late and Nemesis decided it was bedtime, so they subbed in Scorch

The most commonly yelled thing in this game was, “Where are we going?” The only time anyone was really set up anywhere was for a brief period when I managed to escape the snipe tower with snipe and we set up at BR tower. But that didn’t last long, and shortly thereafter we were back to being scattered around the map. Those types of games are really the most fun in Lockout anyway, and this game was no exception.

The short time holding BR tower had us at a 15-10 lead. After I ran out of snipe ammo the team made its way to snipe tower, But we didn’t have snipe or sword, so we were basically getting constantly assaulted until we were overrun. Cozmo kept asking, “is it secure?” The answer was always no.

Once, they cleared everyone out but me, and while they respawned in BR tower, I kind of snaked my way around, sneaking up on people for a while and clearing the snipe tower out. Then everyone spawned back with me in snipe tower. But as soon as they came back Scorch crashed the party and sworded us all out. Then we were back in BR tower with the game tied 31-31.

Cozmo made big play by sticking the sword guy and living. So for a while he had the sword running around in snipe tower, while Nomar and I ended up in the green room somehow. Whatever we were doing was working, because our lead slowly increased until our lead was 45-40. We traded kills until it was 49-43. We spotted Knight dropping below lift and I went into the green room to get a jump on him. Little did I know, McDohl was down there grabbing shotgun. He shot me and then meleed me, but the shotgun did to him what it’s notorious for, it failed him when it was most important, and the game was over.

 O7AH wins 50-43

 O7AH wins the matchup 2-1

Good games guys!

Well, all toll, we spent 55 minutes playing these three games. By far our longest challenge yet. And yet, it was one of the best matches so far. Fighting in a war like that can bring people together, haha. I feel like I left a piece of myself in these games. In 50 years, maybe there will be a documentary where they take players from each team and bring them back to Sanctuary and make them talk about what happened, WWII style. Seems like a strong possibility. Anyways, the OcR guys were really cool, despite us moaning and whatnot. We should set up a Clan Challenge later and have a massive 8v8 CTF game to 10 caps or something. I think that'd be epic. We could make it an annual thing, that way we could remember the day of the Great CTF Game, haha.
