  1 Flag CTF on Terminal

(O7AH's Pick)                                              Bungie.net Game Stats                                          Download The Video Of This Game:

This is O7AH’s game of choice, our bread and butter. Both teams used the same strategy when on offense; 2 in the warthog, 1 in the ghost, the remainder grabs rockets. So, needless to say the wraith was the world’s bitch in this match. It was taken out early in every round and wouldn’t really play a factor in any of the rounds.

It started out with O7AH on offense and Clantacular on defense. The wraith was quickly taken out and we got to barely touch the flag before the defense stiffened and our entire team respawned. Clantacular won the battle for rockets, but they held them on the bridge over the tracks, where O7AH was lucky enough to pick off the rocket guy with snipes. With rockets down, the flag quickly moved towards the offensive base and was captured.

The second round probably left both teams confused. It started out simple enough. Clantacular tried throwing the flag up through the garage at the beginning, but there was trouble with the handoff and the flag was stuck next to the dumpster for a while. Amidst the SMG fire, a conversation was going on. Apparently ThePoopsMcGee was saying something about one of the Clantacular guys “glitching” the rockets through the wall of the booth. Now this happens in basically every single terminal game, so both teams were thrown off by this comment. Poops is one of the founding overlords of O7AH, but he hasn’t played much halo in the last two years. He just recently returned and maybe isn’t quite up to speed with everything going on in the Haloverse. If O7AH was a family, he’d be the crazy uncle that everyone likes, but he went away for a while, maybe he fought in a war, and now that he’s back nobody is quite sure what he’s going to say. After the uproar died down. Clantacular brought the gauss hog around the back of the base, and TH3 EL1T3 F4K3R gunned most of us down while they ran the flag back to their base.

The second offensive run for O7AH went much the same as the first, and the score was quickly 2-1 with one round remaining.

The last round was pretty intense. Clantacular had us pinned down inside our own base for a while, with snipe and a gauss gunner and the end of the tracks. But they couldn’t quite get everyone to rush at the same time. That, combined with O7AH constantly respawning, led to lots of the flag being nearly brought out of the base, but not quite making it. Eventually we naded the hog and took out the sniper and were able to take our base back. From there we had it locked down. The only threat from there on was Hydrokrepper stealing our wraith as it was respawning, but luckily we were able to weaken him enough before he got in it to prevent him from doing any damage.

 Final score: 2-1 O7AH

  MLG Slayer on Midship

(Clantacular's Pick)                                    Bungie.net Stats                                          Download The Video Of This Game:

This was Clantacular’s gametype choice. It will never be O7AH’s choice because it is without a doubt O7AH’s worst level, especially when its MLG settings. Our general strategy on this level is to act like those diseased monkeys in 28 Days Later; we scream, and we run at you like we need your blood to survive. Despite this, we managed to keep the game relatively close until about the 40 kill mark, then we slipped on bananas, stepped on rakes, and bonked our heads into each other like the Three Stooges + Shemp.

 Clantacular wins 50 - 44

  MLG Slayer on Lockout

(Neutral Slayer Pick)                                     Bungie.net Stats                                                                      Download the video of this game

The last game is to be a slayer game agreed upon by both teams, and of course, lockout is always the general consensus. The fact that the series went longer than two games shows how evenly matched these two teams were. O7AH spawned below lockout while Clantacular spawned in the snipe tower. O7AH made a mad dash towards the snipe tower and most of the early battles were happening there. LegenD x PaiN held the snipe in the tower for some time, before O7AH was able to overrun the position. The snipe disappeared off the map for some time. While it was gone, Clantacular held the BR tower, O7AH held the snipe tower, and most of the fighting was sporadically happening on the lower levels towards the middle of the map. The snipe returned and Compton was able to go up and grab it. And in traditional O7AH fashion, we quickly abandoned him to watch his own back. This strategy rarely pays off, in fact, it’s a terrible strategy. So in no time he was alone and getting rushed. He managed to stick one of his attackers before jumping off the level with the snipe.

The fighting then focused around the snipe tower as both teams knew the gun was going to respawn soon. Clantacular won the battle and grabbed it when it returned.  T A steve L L went into the tower with a shotty like Sam Fisher and took out the sniper while Poops caused a distraction below. Then O7AH set up in the BR tower with snipe. At that point the game was tied at 33 all, but when the snipe gets into BR tower a team can pretty easily control the map from there. Slowly, O7AH’s lead grew larger and Clantacular was never able to get control back.

O7AH wins 50-38

O7AH wins the matchup 2 to 1

Good games guys!

The games were all tense and very close. And despite the confusion, it was a lot of fun. Hopefully this leads to future challenges between the two clans. (O7AH is already looking to join Clantacular’s ladders)
